Promethazine pill is an antihistamine drug. It is used for symptomatic treatment in case of allergic diseases. Reduces capillary permeability, swelling of mucous membranes, itching. It has moderate peripheral and central cholinolytic action.
When ingested for adults, the daily Promethazine dosage is 75-100 mg.
Maximum dosage: when taken orally, one-time — 75 mg, daily — 500 mg; with intramuscular intake a single 50 mg, daily 250 mg.
For children it is used in the composition of lytic mixtures.
Children aged from 1 to 2 years inside - 5-10 mg 1-2 times / day; from 2 to 5 years - 5-10 mg 1-3 times / day; from 5 to 10 years - 5-15 mg 1-3 times / day; older than 10 years and adolescents 5–20 mg 1–3 times / day.
