Zanaflex pill is a muscle relaxant centrally acting. The drug reduces spasm, tension and increased muscle tone. It promotes the removal of muscle contractions that occur as a result of neurological diseases.
The drug is taken orally, the dosage is prescribed by a doctor depending on the diagnosis and individual health characteristics. The drug begins to act after an hour after the first dose. Initially prescribed minimum dosage to avoid side effects. It is recommended to re-take the drug after 6-8 hours. In severe forms of the disease, it is additionally recommended to take 2-4 mg at night. The total daily Zanaflex dosage should not exceed 36 mg. Eating does not affect the acceleration of the absorption of this drug. Duration of Zanaflex medication is prescribed by a doctor.
Warnings:
hypersensitivity and individual intolerance to any component of the drug;
It is forbidden to apply during pregnancy;
It is forbidden to use during lactation;
It is forbidden to take by children under the age of 18 years and patients over 65 years;
It is forbidden to apply to patients who have severe liver dysfunction;
At the same time taking with alcohol increases the chance of the side effects of the drug.
Long-term use of the drug can cause addiction, especially with abrupt withdrawal of the drug.
Patients who experience drowsiness while taking the drug, at the beginning of treatment should avoid all activities that require increased concentration of attention (transport control, work with potentially dangerous mechanisms).
Zanaflex side effects:
nausea and vomiting
a clear decrease in arrhythmic pressure
dizziness and drowsiness
increased anxiety
respiratory failure
coma.
Overdose causes the same symptoms.
