Robaxin is a methocarbamol-based muscle relaxant used for treatment of skeletal muscle spasm and consomitant discomfort, as well as symptomatic treatment of pain caused by muscle sprains and strains.
Side effects of Robaxin might include:
• allergic reactions, e.g. hives, swollen face, lips, tongue, throat;
• dizziness, drowsiness, fatigue, fainting;
• headache, confusion, loss of balance;
• slow heart rate;
• jaundice;
• seizures, convulsions;
• nausea, stomach pain, vomiting;
• blurred vision;
• memory problems;
• insomnia;
• stuffy nose.
To decrease the risk of developing side effects, it is required that your doctor authorized treatment with Robaxin if you:
• are allergic or hypersensitive to methocarbamol or any other substances, foods or medications;
• suffer from or have a history of myasthenia gravis, brain damage, epilepsy and renal or hepatic disorders;
• are taking medications containing pyridostigmine bromide or anticholinesterase agents.
Robaxin can not be used in patients in coma or pre-coma states. It is strongly recommended to avoid alcohol during treatment, as well as operating machines or driving until you are sure of the effect Robaxin takes on you.
Robaxin overdose can be fatal. If there is a possibility you have taken an extra or double dose of Robaxin followed by development of severe symptoms such as seizures, nausea, extremely blurred vision or drowsiness, seek medical attention immediately.
