Provera is a medroxyprogesterone-based medication used for treatment of amenorrhea; secondary and abnormal uterine bleeding caused by hormonal changes; ovulation and menstruation conditions such as cramps, pain, etc.. It can also be prescribed for reducing the incidence of endometrial hyperplasia in postmenopausal women.
Side effects of Provera might include:

• suffer from or have a history of hormone-related cancer of genitals or mammary gland, asthma, epilepsy, diabetes, depression, heart/vessels/liver/thyroid disorders, lupus, hypercalcinemia, severe pelvic pain, abnormal vaginal bleeding, migraine, high cholesterol/ triglycerides, or recently had a miscarriage/abortion;
• are taking medications containing aminoglutethimide or any other prescribed or non-prescribed medications, herbal and dietary supplements or vitamins.
Symptoms of Provera overdose are: severe drowsiness or dizziness, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, breast soreness, vaginal bleeding. If there is a possibility you have taken an extra or double dose, seek medical attention immediately.
